Meet Your InStructor
Evan Labell is a co-owner and Lead Instructor of NH Driving Academy. As a licensed instructor, he has earned the Driver Education Instructor Certificate and fulfilled the required classroom and in-vehicle instruction hours (he’s actually at over 1,000 hours now!)
A Master Sergeant and Veteran in the US Army Reserves, his passion for teaching started while training lower enlisted personnel throughout his 20+ year military career. This then carried forward in his role as part of a homeschooling family where he and his wife Rebekah have been homeschooling their three children. He discovered that these skills seemed to easily translate to driving instruction and, thus, NH Driving Academy was born!
Evan has lived in Londonderry for almost 20 years and has been directly involved in the community. He is a member of American Legion Post 27 and served as a den leader for Cub Scout Pack 901. He has worked in Derry and Londonderry for over a decade. For the past two years, he drove and taught for a large local driving school and had the privilege of teaching many area students. He cares deeply about preparing our youth for the important task of driving safely.
Expectation for Successful Completion of the Program
To develop safe, knowledgeable, and courteous drivers, the parents and the school must work together toward that goal. This means that the school will joyfully teach legal basics and good driving habits as well as provide applicable in-vehicle instruction. The parents/guardians are expected to provide additional consistency and support through and beyond attaining a driver’s license. We have found that students are most successful when they start driver’s education with a minimum of 5-10 hours of logged driving experience at home.
Parental involvement
The guiding philosophy of NH Driving Academy is that the school and the parents/guardians are partners in the development of the students. Our expectation is that the parent or guardian will provide at least one hour of driving for each hour we provide. This consistency reinforces the in-vehicle instruction and allows for practice with your home vehicles. We also expect that parents/guardians will ensure in-home accountability on the required studying. We strongly encourage the student’s and parents to review and complete the parent-teen driving agreement.
